Books galore

Today we went to the yearly warehouse book sale at Galloway and Porter  in Cambridgephoto

I was amazed , there was thousands of books and all only £1 each.

It was easy to spend your money if you like books,I came away with 10 books costing me £10 which was less than just one of the books would have been in the shops

So 9 great Christmas gifts and a book for me too.

As lady M loves books she would have been in heaven.

Catch of the day

Posted by ShoZu

This caught my eye in the newspaper today.
Its believed to be the largest thresher shark ever caught in the world.
It was caught by mistake while fishing for squid and took a fork lift truck to carry it to Newlyn fish market in Cornwall, where it sold for a mere £225 thats just 20p a pound.

Here’s how you might cook it…..

4 shark steaks
bunch of water cress
one onion
8floz of dry white wine
2floz olive oil
juice of two lemons
3tbsps grated ginger
2tblsp balsamic vinegar

chop the onion and water cress and mix well with the remaining ingredients.
pour the marinade over the steaks and leave for between 2 and 24 hours in the fridge.
remove steaks and place under a grill for 4 to 5 mins each side.
serve with rice…

The back massage

Massage class started off with a test last night… I was nervous, its  been along time since I had to do any school work. star

Full of confidence now as I got a gold star and 100%, now don’t go thinking I have brains as these tests are all multiple choice and quite easy if you put in the work and learn what you have been told too.

We then got the back massage demonstrated to us, as I said before this is the longest of the routines and had new moves in it too , like skin rolling, which most of us will need to practice many times before we get it perfect.

The next few weeks will be used for practicing, then we shall start getting timed, the clock will come out and we will be told when to go from one sequence to the next so in the end we will get the whole routine spot on the hour.

On the theory side we have now covered the bones and the muscles next week we start on the skin…

Nice day for a walk

After all the rain yesterday, I woke to a glorious sunny day, so Geoff came over on the train and we set off for the coast.coast today 002

We stopped at Wolferton and hoped  to get down to the sea defense wall,as you may remember we had a bit of trouble last time.

This time we sneaked our way down and along the coast into Snettisham, not disturbing one bird on our way :-)

We stopped off for tea and cake at Snettisham village, where we realized that we were running out of walking time.

So we finished the last part off by bus……
