Better late than never..
A bit late I know but I finally got round to baking our Christmas cake tonight.
For some reason I really wanted to make a square cake this year but decided i could not afford a new baking tin.
So its the usual round cake again,next year i will have that square tin though.
Will feed it with Brandy for the next 2 weeks before I marzipan and Ice it .
Lets hope it tastes as good as it smells

Funny how we always used to bake Christmas cakes in round tins. It is not practical for cutting is it and I moved to square a long time ago.
Looks wonderful Sally and as I never met a Christmas cake I didn’t like. One of my favourite things.

Does it really matter Round or Square, you made a cake ..so be proud…I have never made a christmas cake ever!

Looks great. I think that round cakes look nicer somehow even if they are not practical for cutting.
I am not a cake person but I do eat Christmas cake.
