Today I had an invitation to walk with The Simple Social ladies group.
They were doing the third leg of the Fen Rivers Way, which means they would have walked from Cambridge to Kings Lynn, a total of 50 miles.
Today they did the 12 mile stretch from Downham Market to Kings Lynn. a most enjoyable walk along the river, past the ruins of Wiggenhall St Peter Church, and into King Lynn along the Green Quay.
At King’s Lynn, the Fen Rivers Way connects with the Wash Coast Path (through the Peter Scott Walk) taking walkers along the remote coast marshes into Lincolnshire, or the Nar Valley Way which leads you into the heart of Norfolk.
We ended the walk by going to Bradley’s wine bar for a well deserved Lunch.
A most enjoyable walk was had by all, Geoff made an excellent walk leader and thanks to Caroline for inviting me along.
The information from my pedometer was…..
12.6 miles
26,339 steps
1,377 cals
It was a great walk and many thanks to Geoff for leading it. Our new challenge is to walk from Snettisham to Cromer – in stages. The first leg is on 12 May ,looking forward to walking by the sea and having some sun on our backs! We are also training for the 2008 Moonwalk – 26 miles round London at night – mad or fun, but a big CHALLENGE. Contact Simply Social or Sally for more info.
Happy walking to all.
Ellee, it seems ages since I last saw you, hope we can meet up again soon too.

How fantastic, hoping we can meet up again soon Sally for a nice long walk.
I have to admit, I’d be waiting for you all to arrive at Bradley’s Wine Bar…but I would have ordered lunch and wine for you all!
