Fairfield Horseshoe…

Well I just could not stay away from my blog…. so my laptop came to Kendal with me and George has a great broadband connection.

After a 5 hour journey we finally arrived in Kendal,I was glad to be here and Geoff’s friends, who he’s known since he was 16, George and Jackie are very nicefairfield and have made me feel very welcome.

It was not long before George and Geoff were sorting a walking route out for today, plotting the route on memory map and downloading it to the GPS.

After a good nights sleep and a kipper for breakfast we set off for Ambleside.

Where we walked the Fairfield horseshoe, it was a brilliant walk which included a little bit of scrambling. GetAttachment.aspxThe weather started off quite well but by the time we got to the top it was cold windy and foggy, so no fantastic views today.

We didn’t hang around long and made our way back down to the tea shop at Rydal Hall where we enjoyed  Tea and cake, while admiring some creative textiles pictures by Dianne Standen.

It was then a short walk back to Ambleside and a quick look around the shops and a special house……..
