My readers that have been following me for a while will know how I struggle with my skiing.
I have to really psyche myself up and its a real case of facing my fears..
This week-end trip to Les Gets was not for skiing but just relaxing and doing some snow shoe walking.
We woke to lovely snow this morning so I encouraged Geoff to go out on his snowboard for a few local runs,as the chair lift was open.
Later in the day we got some snow shoes and had a walk up the mountain, it was beautiful and so peaceful.
It was also hard work and we certainly burn some calories.
Now we have had a practice run we hope to go up even higher tomorrow weather permitting.

James…. skiing is just so very scarey and for me it about not feeling in control, as soon as i start to go too fast i panic 🙁
Anyone who goes skiing is very brave in my book! Well done.
Is there a background to the fear of sking or is it just a thing which is?
It looks wonderful 🙂
I didn’t take to skiing when I tried it!
Oh I do envy you being on snow. I am writing this from the bar at the dry slope – watching my son doing race training. Would much rather be out on the piste – a proper one, not a plastic one that scrapes your skin off when you fall down.
Enjoy it.
Never tried skiing but I know I’d probably break something!
But I’d love to be there in the snow and to enjoy the peacefulness 🙂

Skiing was the one sport I was absolutely hopeless at. So I gave it up very early on. Bit of a shame really since we are so close to some of the best skiing and will host the Winter Olympics in two years.
Never been ski-ing.
Not sure if I’d enjoy it or be terrified…
sorry Sally, computer went wrong…….
and what “fears” do you have to overcome, you are a very positive person and succeed in all that you do….have done in the last few years 🙂 🙂
You have a very very positive attitude and someone who helps your confidence, and believes in you which is a great help.
I couldn’t even put a pair of skis on without quivering…not that I have even tried, just the thought puts fear into me..
As if you have to burn any calories!!!!!!
You did really well with your skiing last time you went….I know because I read your post!! and what “fears”
