Today Geoff and I did a 17 mile circular walk from my house via Castle Acre.
We had delicious Tea and fruit cake at the Churchgate tea rooms in Castle Acre.
If you remember last year I blogged about the lack of sloes.
Well today I noticed there are plenty around this year.
So looks like I will be adding some Sloe Gin to my Raspberry Gin and Vodka collection.
To finish the day off I cooked Geoff a lovely dinner of trout served with home made Apple and Tomato Chutney. Then I gave him an Indian head massage before he returned home on the train.

glad you liked the trout there will probably be another one the next time you visit
Indeed it was delicious, especially the natural pink colour compared to the Canthaxanthin (E161g) used in farmed trout and salmon. Many thanks to Jim & his friend for catching the brute in the first place.
The home made chutney was great too and went perfectly with the fish.
Will have to visit again 🙂 🙂
Sue and I were out at the weekend birdwatching on the north coast. It took us over an hour longer to get there as we picked over four pounds of blackberries. On the way home two pounds of sloes, all now turned into blackberry and sloe gin jelly, a nice accompaniment to roast lamb. The next lot of blackberries are blackberry brandy.
Yes, well done finding the sloes!
Sounds like a fun day out and congratulations on finding the sloes 🙂
