For as long as I can remember I have always had trouble with my laces on my walking boots and running shoes.
If i didn’t tie them with a double bow they constantly came undone.
I presumed it was due to the vibrations from my feet hitting the ground over and over again.
Then Geoff discovered the Boot Lace secret
At first I was very sceptical but on Sunday I tried it out for myself.
My first knot is usually done left over right so I reversed it to right over left
Not only did I get a neat bow but it stayed tied for over 6 hours of walking, with no need for a double bow.
Amazing I would say 🙂

Excellent tip (from one who is forever falling over their untied laces) Glad to know that you have finally reached the age when you can tie your own boot laces properly and brag about it.
It is amazing that it works so well and even more amazing that some folks have always done it that way without realizing what they are doing!
The answer is that it makes a reef knot rather than a granny knot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reef_knot
What a cool tip 🙂
I suspect my son could do with some boot tying hints – his laces are always chasing him down the pavement, trailing through dirt and muck.
Mine always stay done up. I have no idea why. Perhaps I have always known the secret?
Well this had me laughing so much.. I would never of thought about “vibrations” under my feet!!
I am not sure what you mean by left over right (first knot) do you mean hold laces in your hand cross left hand over the right…and then under…
I have just tried it, how did you all tie your laces like that……unless some of you are left handed..!
As I said before How come it took this long for the answer 🙂
YEP i tried it as well and it certainly works.like you said AMAZING..
