Have you got any accommodation sorted yet? We stayed in the Double Happiness Courtyard hotel in Beijing, gets my thumbs up. Not the cheapest and slightly scruffy, but in a good way, it’s in a traditional Hutong. The staff there arranged train tickets for us too which was a great help. People we met spoke highly of one of the hostels near the Lama temple too, but I can’t remember the name of it. We found we spent a lot of time in the various gardens in Beijing, we were lucky as we caught some special blossom season, I don’t know what it’ll be like in September though? I’m a little bit jealous as it’s somewhere I’d love to go back to!
Ace! China is an amazing place to visit. Are you on an organised trip or doing it all independently?

Lucky you. You should call your blog, Sally’s Adventures Around the World, as you are never in Norfolk 😉
